Somerset Area Ambulance Association is pleased to announce our membership drive is underway.
Since 1966, Somerset Area Ambulance Association has been committed to providing the highest quality ambulance service to all of the residents and visitors of our service area.
We are a non-profit organization that does not receive tax subsidy. Your memberships and donations help us with the expenses of providing pre-hospital care to our community.
Somerset Area Ambulance is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with highly trained EMTs, AEMTS and Paramedics. Our goal is to provide you, your family and friends, with the highest quality of emergency care and other related services that may be needed, 24 hours a day.
We understand the many expenses that occur during an unexpected medical or traumatic event. Our plans are an exceptional value and come with a guarantee that your out of pocket expenses will be kept to a minimum.

Membership Plans
Please remember that copays, insurances and deductibles vary depending on your health insurance plan.
Members with Insurance:
- Gold - 100% of copays, coinsurances and deductibles. Receive a 75% discount on all other services.
- Silver - 50% of copays, coinsurance and deductibles. Receive a 50% discount on all other services.
Members with no Insurance:
- Gold - Members will receive a 75% discount on all services.
- Silver - Members will receive a 50% discount on all services.
Other services include but are not limited to the following: Lift assists, welfare checks, refusals, and transports outside of the limits of your insurance coverage.
What your contributions fund
It costs Somerset Area Ambulance, on average, $7,400 a day to maintain our level of readiness.
Our expenses include: Equipment Replacement, Communications Equipment, Fuel, Tires, Preventative Maintenance, Inspection, Insurance, Utility Bills, Appliances, Computers, Furniture, Insurance, Wages, Benefits, Training, Worker’s Compensation Coverage, Office Supplies, Printing, and Disposable Supplies.

Ambulances – 5 years ($187,500 in 2024)
Cardiac Monitors – 10 years ($32,000 in 2021)
Stretchers – 8 years ($29,000 in 2024)
Automatic CPR Devices – 1000 hours ($25,000 in 2024)
Stairchairs – 12 years ($5,200 in 2023)
