The Somerset Area Ambulance Association is a dedicated, community-focused emergency medical service committed to providing high-quality pre-hospital care to residents and visitors throughout Somerset County, Pennsylvania. Our mission is simple: to deliver prompt, compassionate, and professional mobile healthcare when its needed most.

Our History

Since 1966, our team of highly trained emergency medical technicians (EMTs), advanced emergency medical technicians (AEMTs), paramedics, and support staff have worked around the clock to ensure that every patient receives the care, respect, and attention they deserve. Whether responding to life-threatening emergencies, providing non-emergency transport, or assisting during community events, we are proud to be a trusted partner in public safety and health.

Emergency Response

Rapid, high-acuity medical response services for critical and life-threatening situations. This includes deployment of certified personnel (EMTs, paramedics, or advanced providers), fully equipped emergency vehicles, and coordination with local emergency systems. Services focus on immediate stabilization, advanced life support, rapid transport when necessary, and seamless integration with fire/rescue and hospital networks.

Reliable, patient-focused care for low-acuity medical needs and scheduled transports. Services include medical evaluations, basic life support, patient monitoring, and safe transport between facilities, residences, and appointments. Emphasis is placed on comfort, efficiency, and continuity of care for individuals who do not require urgent intervention.
Comprehensive medical coverage for large-scale events such as festivals, concerts, sporting events, and public gatherings. Services include on-site medical teams, mobile response units, first aid stations, and incident command integration. Planning includes risk assessment, crowd health management, and surge capacity to handle multiple simultaneous incidents
Dedicated medical teams and equipment staged on-site for immediate response during high-risk operations or environments. Common applications include construction sites, industrial operations, film productions, and hazardous work settings. These services reduce response times, improve safety compliance, and provide peace of mind for organizations managing elevated risk.
Professional training programs designed to enhance individual and organizational readiness. Offerings include CPR/AED certification, first aid, trauma care, workplace safety, and customized emergency response training.
